The founders
Enrique Castillo Schwank
Alumni of:
Enrique Castillo Schwank founded Lumière AI to make structured, consulting grade decision support accessible to anyone who needs it, from individuals to SMEs, corporates, and investment funds. He previously worked at Strategy& and PwC, focusing on growth strategy, commercial due diligence, and national level strategic initiatives for governments and private equity clients across Europe and the MENA region.
Before consulting, Enrique served in the French Foreign Legion as a sniper team leader in an airborne parachute regiment, earning multiple honors. That mix of strategy work and military discipline shaped how Lumière AI is built, rigorous problem structuring, clear assumptions, and recommendations that hold up under real world constraints.
Evgenia Ivanova (ep. Castillo), CFA
Alumni of:
Evgeniya brings deep experience in strategic investments, M&A, and infrastructure finance across ADNOC and XRG in the UAE, and earlier at EY and PwC. She also worked on the capital markets side in Moscow, which adds a strong public markets lens to her investment work. Across these roles, she has handled large scale transactions and complex financing decisions, managed the full advisor stack, and turned their inputs into clear investment calls.
Evgeniya is a CFA charterholder with an MSc in Economics. Her client side lens is central to Lumiu. She knows what decision makers actually need, which questions change the outcome, and how to turn a messy situation into a structured recommendation that can be defended.
We started building Lumiu in June 2024 and we have been working on it for more than 1.5 years. It is built by two founders who lived both sides of the table, consultant and client.
Enrique led strategy work and due diligence for governments, large corporates, and investment funds at Strategy& and PwC, both top tier consulting firms, and before that served in the French Foreign Legion as a sniper team leader in the reconnaissance company, in the french army the lesson is simple “a plan only matters if it survives contact with reality.”
Evgeniya has managed and executed multi billion dollar investments on the client side, including at ADNOC’s investment arm and XRG investment company, working daily with top-tier strategy consultants, investment bankers, and lawyers. That combination shaped what Lumiu is; an agentic reasoning system designed to be useful when decisions are messy, constrained, and high stakes.
Lumiu is built on the idea that generic AI is not enough for real business problems. In practice, decisions come with missing data, competing objectives, and consequences. So we built Lumiu to follow the way strategy work is actually done.
First, it takes context from the user and asks the right questions to clarify the decision.
Second, it goes out and gathers background information from the current world to understand the reality around that decision.
Third, it proposes a hypothesis driven scope of work, because that is how consultants avoid producing generic output and instead focus on what will actually change the outcome.
Then it tests the hypotheses, iterates, and produces a deliverable you can share. This includes a clear recommendation, the logic behind it, the key facts and assumptions, the risks, and next steps.
This is also why we draw a clear line between market research and strategy work. Market research often collects information and summarizes it.
Strategy work is different; it is decision first and hypothesis driven, built to answer one specific question and to survive scrutiny. That is the method we encoded into Lumiu.
The goal is not to generate pages. The goal is to reduce uncertainty and help you choose a direction you can defend.
On the engineering side, Lumiu has been built with strong AI expertise and a dedicated infrastructure team. Our CTO is an AI specialist who has helped build multiple LLMs in industry, supported by a brilliant small group of engineers across infrastructure and development, plus many others who contributed at the right time as the project evolved. Over the time since we first started to work on Lumiu, more than a dozen people have passed through the effort, and each brought inputs that helped us sharpen the system.
Where this goes next is practical. We are adding capabilities that make Lumiu easier to use in real workflows: PowerPoint export, APIs so companies can integrate Lumiu into their internal tools, and an expert interviews service that brings in off line knowledge when more precision is needed.
The expert interviews network is key because Lumiu can only research what is public and available online. In real strategy work, the biggest insights often come from information that is not online, what experts know from experience. By bringing those expert inputs into Lumiu, the system can update its hypotheses, rerun the analysis, and produce conclusions that are closer to what a real consulting team would deliver.
Lumiu U1 is our first public release. We are improving it continuously with one goal, give anyone the ability to think through a hard decision with structure, evidence, and clear tradeoffs, whether it is buying a home, planning retirement, or making a business call, and then walk away with a clear recommendation and a slide ready report they can share or keep for themselves.
