These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Lumiu websites and platform, including https://chat.lumiu.ai, www.lumiu.ai, www.lumiereai.io, and any related applications, workspaces, dashboards, APIs, and services (collectively, the "Service").
The Service is operated by Lumière AI, a French Société par Actions Simplifiée (SAS) registered with the R.C.S. Paris under number 929 934 875, with registered offices at 50 avenue des Champs Élysées, 75008 Paris, France.
In these Terms, “Lumière AI”, “Lumiu”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Lumière AI. “You” and “User” refer to any person or entity accessing or using the Service.
By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service: A Reasoning System
1.1 Nature of the Service: Lumiu is not a standard chatbot; it is an advanced Multi-Agent Reasoning System. It utilizes hundreds of specialized autonomous agents operating in parallel (simulating a consulting team structure including consultants, managers, and partners) to reason, plan consequences, and test hypotheses. 1.2 Decision Support: Lumiu produces structured strategy reports designed to assist high-level decision-making. However, Lumiu is a decision support system, not a substitute for human judgment. 1.3 Not Professional Advice: Lumiu is not a consulting firm. We are not engaged in rendering professional advice. No output generated by the Service constitutes investment, legal, tax, accounting, or valuation advice. You remain solely responsible for your decisions, actions, and business outcomes.
2. Methodology, Latency, and Behavior
2.1 The "Logic Twin" & Real-World Anchoring: You acknowledge that Lumiu is built on a proprietary "Logic Twin"—a digital replication of the founders' consulting logic and reasoning frameworks—and is anchored to a database of real-life projects. 2.2 Processing Time: Unlike instant chat tools, Lumiu performs deep reasoning tasks that require significant compute time. Generating a full report may take approximately 2 hours or more. You acknowledge that this latency is a feature of the deep reasoning process, not a defect in the Service. 2.3 Identity Hallucinations: Because Lumiu is anchored to real-life project logic and simulates top-tier consulting thinking, the AI may occasionally speak in the first person claiming to be a human consultant or claiming affiliation with specific firms (e.g., "I am a Strategy& consultant" or "Based on my experience at PwC..."). These statements are simulation artifacts. Lumiu is an algorithm, not a human, and has no employment history. 2.4 No Affiliation: Lumiu is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of PwC, Strategy&, McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or any other firm. Any reference to such firms is purely descriptive of the reasoning style being simulated.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an entity (e.g., your employer), you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials.
4. User Content and Data
4.1 Your Inputs: You represent that you have all necessary rights to provide your Inputs (text, files, data) and that doing so does not violate any law or third-party rights. 4.2 License to Process: You retain ownership of your Inputs. You grant Lumière AI a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use and process your Inputs solely to provide and maintain the Service. 4.3 Data Privacy: We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable laws, including the GDPR.
5. Outputs and Ownership
5.1 Ownership: Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you own the Outputs generated by the Service based on your Inputs. You may use the Outputs for commercial purposes at your own risk. 5.2 Responsibility: You are responsible for the content of the Outputs. You must human-verify all Outputs before using them for material business decisions or external communications.
6. Acceptable Use & Export Controls
6.1 Prohibited Actions: You agree not to use the Service to:
Generate illegal or harmful content.
Mislead others by representing AI text as human-written without disclosure.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract model weights, the "Logic Twin" structure, or system prompts.
Scrape or harvest the Service at scale.
Use the Service to train competing models ("model distillation").
6.2 International Use & Sanctions: You represent that you are not located in, and will not access the Service from, a country subject to comprehensive EU or US sanctions (e.g., Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia), and that you are not a denied party on any EU or US export restriction lists.
7. Plans, Billing, and Refunds
7.1 Subscriptions: You authorize us to charge applicable fees via our payment processor. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled via your account settings. 7.2 Taxes: Prices may be exclusive of taxes. You are responsible for paying all applicable taxes (VAT, GST, Sales Tax) associated with your use of the Service in your jurisdiction. 7.3 Refund Policy: Payments are non-refundable. We do not provide refunds or credits for partially used subscription periods, accidental purchases, or "unused" access. If you cancel your subscription, you will continue to have access to the Service through the end of your current billing period. 7.4 EU/UK Right of Withdrawal: If you are a consumer in the EU/UK, you legally have a 14-day right of withdrawal. However, by purchasing a subscription and accessing the Service immediately, you expressly acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the digital content or service has been provided.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Our IP: The Service, including the Logic Twin, the 10,000+ line reasoning architecture, the agent orchestration system, the interface, software, and brand, is owned exclusively by Lumière AI. 8.2 License: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service. 8.3 Feedback: Feature suggestions you provide to us may be used without obligation or compensation.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumière AI disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that Outputs will be accurate or error-free.
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1 Limit: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumière AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits. 10.2 Cap: Our total aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or EUR 100, whichever is greater.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Lumière AI from claims or expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your use of the Outputs.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
12.1 Governing Law: These Terms are governed by French law. 12.2 Jurisdiction: Subject to mandatory local consumer laws that may apply to you:
B2B / General: Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France.
EU Consumers: You may bring a claim in the courts of the country where you reside.
13. Class Action Waiver
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you and Lumière AI agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. This waiver applies specifically to users in jurisdictions (such as the United States) where class actions are permitted.
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms. If we make material changes, we will notify you. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
